For the record, I didn’t start planning my wedding day until I actually had a ring on my finger. But, I must admit, I DID have a bridal shower board on Pinterest a year before I was actually engaged! As soon as my loved ones asked what kind of bridal shower I desired, I shared my dream bridal shower board with them. I’m a huge fan of the 50s era and 50s glamour, and my vision was for a 50s themed shower with a Coca-Cola twist. They immediately told me they would handle everything, and set to work on making my Pinterest board come to life!
To cut back on costs, they decided to DIY as much as possible. My loved ones designed and recreated every Pin just as how I envisioned it. I chose cherry red and teal as my shower colors because it has a gorgeous vintage feel. They rented white spandex chair covers from Rent My Wedding to add glam to the folding chairs. As they were planning, I, too, had a plan of my own. I wanted to surprise them with hand sewn aprons, keeping the theme in mind. Of course, with the “help” of my mother (she basically made them), “I” was able to sew aprons for all of my special ladies.
It was finally my bridal shower day! I chose a midi day dress with a petticoat a la 50s style. When I arrived, I was pleasantly welcomed by my loved ones and dear friends decked out in 50s attire. We took tons of pictures with props and sang and danced to doo-wop songs. They showered me with gifts and they were touched by the handmade aprons “I” made for them [wink wink]. What a sweet and memorable day it was. I’m still smiling from ear to ear. They truly made me feel like a princess!
